An Invitation to
Join

Temple B'nai Abraham,
one of oldest and largest independent synagogues in the country, is a
vital, dynamic and forward-looking congregation that offers connection,
compassion and community for all. We
offer a rich array of programs and services, but most of all we
offer a sense of belonging, of community, of a larger family —
your Temple family.
Housed in
the Louis and Emily Slater Youth and Education Center, The Early School
and Religious School are widely acknowledged to be among the finest in
New Jersey. TBA’s High School and Confirmation program seek to continue
the synagogue education and involvement of our young people beyond the
age of Bar/ Bat Mitzvah.
We serve Livingston, Millburn/Short Hills, West
Orange, South Orange, Maplewood, Roseland and all adjacent communities,
part of the New Jersey MetroWest region.
With a rich history of
independence, Temple B'nai Abraham fosters respect for tradition,
relevance to time and place, creativity, musicality and a commitment to
providing a focal point for living and learning Jewishly.
Membership in Temple B'nai Abraham enriches the fabric of your
Jewish life and provides a spiritual link to the Jewish
community. We are committed to helping you find your place
in congregational life.
Interfaith families are most welcome.
Our B'nai Abraham family invites you

A Family Place
We’re a place of
learning from The Early School the Religious School and the
TBA High School in
the Louis and Emily Slater Youth and Education Center through a rich
adult education program..
We’re a house of
worship with Shabbat and holiday services in our beautiful
Ross Sanctuary and in the more intimate setting of our Gittlin Chapel
and outdoor patio in the Denburg Garden.
We’re a community
that forges a strong connection among its members within a
participatory environment through worship, life cycle events, and
multifaceted programming. Temple B’nai Abraham provides a Jewish
learning and social setting for all ages.
Temple B’nai Abraham welcomes
interfaith families. We cordially invite spouses and
partners who are not of the Jewish faith to join in prayer and festival
observances. Along with their parents and siblings, they are also
invited to play a central role in their child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah as
well as encouraged to become involved in nearly every aspect of
congregational life, including serving on committees. Children of
interfaith families who are being raised solely in the Jewish tradition
are eligible for enrollment in the Religious School. Rabbi Kulwin will
welcome any questions regarding participation in worship services,
family observances, or related matters.
