host Rachel
Coalition Program
“Not
to People Like Us:
Rachel Coalition
Responds to Domestic
Violence in the Jewish
Home, ”
Since its inception in
1997, Rachel Coalition
has counseled and helped
women (and men) involved
in abusive
relationships. Led by
Jewish Family Services
Executive Director
Reuben Rotman, Rachel
Coalition Past Chair
Lesley Frost and Rachel
Coalition Speakers’
Bureau Chair Myrna
Wertheimer, this
eye-opening program will
alert attendees to
warning signs of abusive
relationships so they
can help friends or
relatives in need. They
will enlighten us about
the extent of the
problem in our local
community and give us
information as to how
such situations are
handled once someone
reaches out to Rachel
Coalition for help.
Coffee and dessert will
be served.

Thank you to the

Passover Program Thursday, March 11
7:30 PM
On Thursday, March 11, at 7:30 PM, Sisterhood, Men’s Club, Early School Parents' Council and PTA will sponsor a special presentation just in time for Passover. Authors of 300 Ways to Ask the Four Questions and the subjects of a PBS television program, Murray Spiegel and Rickey Stein, will use multimedia to give you fabulous ideas to make the Passover Seder more meaningful for your entire family, from toddlers to grandparents!
Dessert and coffee will be served. RSVP to 973.994.2290.
Dr. Murray Spiegel, a speech researcher in telecommunications, has established a reputation for innovative Passover Seders. Since leading his first Seder while in graduate school, Murray has made each of more than 30 Seders different than the last. With his wife Randi, Murray has transformed their house into a Bedoin tent; a jumbo jet taking the Israelites out of Egypt; and an ancient Egyptian tomb with an inflatable sarcophagus. His Seders were filmed by PBS.
Rickey Stein has practiced pharmacy for more than 40 years. His life-long interests in languages, computers and Passover served him well in the preparation of this book. Rickey's many other interests are eclectic and quite varied and include Latin music, photography, Jewish choral singing, numismatics, syngraphics, antique automobiles and license plates. He is particularly knowledgeable on the various writing systems used by the world's languages. The Steins have been leading Seders for more than 35 years and have added new language translations every year. And they haven't stopped yet!
Both authors were featured in The New York Times.
