General Information: Hebrew School  Aleph- Hey Class ( 3rd-7th grades)

The Hebrew School is designed to create meaningful and positive Jewish experiences. Our goals are to develop a student’s sense of spirituality, love of God and a feeling of responsibility to the Jewish community. The children and their families will gain a greater Jewish identity by learning and attaining the knowledge they need to celebrate Judaism in the home, Synagogue and community. The curriculum emphasizes Hebrew prayers, holidays, history, ethics, Israel and the Bible, with exposure to Jewish culture. Our staff utilizes multi-sensory teaching methods. We recognize the many learning styles children need to be successful in the classroom today.

By providing our students with positive and meaningful involvement in Jewish rituals and celebrations, we hope to inspire them to become knowledgeable and dedicated life-long Jews. All classes celebrate holidays throughout the year.

The Hebrew School offers a unique program of Jewish education, providing families with a two-day mid-week choice of either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM for Aleph through Dalet grades. Students are required to attend services throughout the year.

Hey Class

In the 7th Grade (Hey Class), the students meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:25-8:00 PM for instruction in Prayer, Jewish Literacy, Ethics, Israel and the Holocaust. It is important for the seventh graders to explore Jewish life outside the classroom walls. Students accomplish this by volunteering at the Temple and in the community, as well as attending Shabbat/holiday services.

It is our goal that graduates leave the Religious School with the knowledge and ethical values of the Jewish tradition etched in their minds and hearts and continue their Jewish education at TBA’s High School.
