Accounting Associate

We're seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone experienced in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven nonprofit environment. We’re looking for a dependable team member who takes ownership, follows through to get tasks completed, and can adapt to varying workloads — some days may be busy, while others lighter.

Key Responsibilities:

· Process accounts payable and manage vendor payments

· Handle accounts receivable and monitor incoming payments

· Perform bank reconciliations

· Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks (Desktop)

· Create and update Excel reports, independently managing existing spreadsheets

· Assist with month-end and year-end closing

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data

Qualifications:

· Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop or Online and Microsoft Office

· Strong experience with accounts payable processing and bank reconciliations

· Solid understanding of accounting principles (debits, credits, reconciliations)

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

· Prior experience with expense management software is a plus

· Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Type: Full-time, 30-35 hours a week
