6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
TBA continues our annual tradition of having a Shabbat speader for Pride Month. Jennifer Raz describes her topic as "discussing my own journey as well as my family's journey in discovering, learning and supporting my transgender child." She will also speak to the importance of parental and community support of our transgender youth.
Jennifer Raz was born and raised in Livingston, NJ. She is the youngest of three children and comes from a musical family. Jennifer graduated from Livingston High School in 1991 and went on to Penn State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies in 1995.
After college, Jennifer married her college sweetheart, Steven, and they now have three beautiful children. In addition to her family, Jennifer has a passion for music, yoga, and giving back to her community. She is a certified yoga instructor and continues to practice, finding balance in her busy life.
Jennifer's dedication to helping others is evident in her work coordinating Catwalk for Cancer, which raised funds for Pediatric Cancer Research for Memorial Sloan Kettering. She is also a founding member of the local LGBTQ+ Parent Support Group, which provides a safe and supportive space for families in the community. Jennifer is on the board for the Local Livingston Pride Picnic, where she enjoys bringing people together to celebrate diversity and inclusivity.
We hope that you will join us. No RSVP necessary.
